Feroz was one of Singapore’s top middle distance runners in 1500m and 3000m steeplechase (SC) events over a decade. His drive for excellence saw him representing the nation in the 28th South East Asian (SEA) Games in 2015 for the 3000m SC event.
Having graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a degree in Mathematical Sciences, he went on to become a physical education (PE) teacher at Innova Junior College (IJC). His passion in athletics drove him to take up coaching. He has been an assistant coach of Trackstar Athletics running group since 2008 before acquiring a coaching certification in 2011. His passion for teaching and running led him to be a teacher-coach for IJC’s distance team in 2013.
He is currently a Flexi Adjunct teacher in an MOE school and an athletics distance coach with Singapore Sports School and Temasek Polytechnic.
David has been heavily involved in the athletics scene for over 15 years. His humble contributions to the athletics fraternity includes community coaching - one of which was SAFRA Toa Payoh, conducting lead-up running clinics such as the Mizuno Women's Run in 2018 as well as conducting invitational coaching sessions for other running groups.
His passion in understanding the uniqueness in every runner and helping all to achieve a healthy and sporting lifestyle saw him through to attaining a coaching certification in 2005. Being benevolent in nature, coupled with his determination to turn his running experience into information for sharing has led to him publishing a book, "Just One More Step". His book entails running related tips, ranging from shoe selection to training programs. Topping it all off, he is also a certified sports therapist, owning a Diploma in Sports Therapy UK-ITEC.
David's work with physically and intellectually challenged athletes in their quest for excellence and his most recent contribution and involvement in Relay Majulah exemplify his strong conviction for sports - lending his time and effort to raise fund for the Singapore Autism community in 2019.
